Ha Long Bay, Hanoi

Ha Long is Vietnamese for descending dragons. The locals believe that there is magic that can reveal dragons in a shaft of golden light or dragons breathing fire atop a sun-drenched wall. This magic responds to the power in cyclones, in silence, in the incomprehensible intelligence of cosmic life. In these tumultuous times, may we find similar magic in the mundane magic that protects us and makes us appreciate the glory of life.
