Be a Reviewer
Reviewers from various specialties are invited to evaluate a manuscript and advise authors on areas for improvement. They provide specialised arguments for and against publication from multidisciplinary, specialised, localised and international perspectives, to ensure that the published work is useful to both specialised and general readers.
- Reviewers may be nominated by authors in their manuscript submissions.
- Reviewers may also write to us to indicate their interest and areas of expertise.
For a fair and constructive evaluation of the work, Reviewers should have no competing/conflicting/financial interest in the manuscript.
Review Process
Reviewers are invited via email. If unavailable, we welcome nominations for other suitable Reviewers through the email’s response link.
After agreeing to review a manuscript, Reviewers may login to the manuscript portal with login details provided in the email.
Select the role of “Reviewer” in the portal to access the article category guidelines for the scope of discussion expected for respective article categories, the manuscript, declaration of any conflict of interest, and complete the online review form.
The standard review time allocated is 14 days. The review time may be expedited for certain manuscripts, for instance, where research findings are time-sensitive. Reviewers will also be invited to check if revised manuscripts have fully addressed their comments.
Awards & Waiver of Article Publication Charge
We give special recognition to Reviewers for both quality and number of reviews, adherence to the Annals’ guidelines (in particular, being fair and supportive to authors), and providing helpful advice to our Editorial Board.
