Case Reports on Acute Toluene Poisoning During Parquet Flooring

We report two cases of acute toluene poisoning occurring during parquet flooring. Inhalation is the major route of absorption in the
workplace, owing to the high volatility of the compound. Such patients should be monitored closely for respiratory distress, central nervous system (CNS) depression and cardiac arrhythmias. Both our patients manifested signs of CNS depression and one had bronchospasm aborted by salbutamol Industries using toluene must ensure that precautions like adequate ventilation are taken to protect their workers.
