To the clinical specialists, epidemiology appears to be a hyphenated word associated with their clinical specialty: for example, cancer-epidemiology, cardiovascular-epidemiology, infectious disease-epidemiology and occupational-epidemiology. It is a toolbox to unravel the distribution and determinants of diseases within their specialty in the community.
