Potential for Cefazolin as De-escalation Therapy for Klebsiella Pneumoniae Bacteraemia

Klebsiella pneumoniae causes the syndrome of liver abscess, meningitis and endophthalmitis associated with capsular serotype K1/K2, mucoid phenotype and aerobactin production as virulence factors. Overall mortality from Klebsiella pneumonia bacteraemia ranged from 19% to 55%.
