Singapore and the Tobacco Pandemic

The World Health Organization, in its 2008 Report on the Global Tobacco Epidemic, has framed the problem in almost apocalyptic terms, in stating that tobacco smoking is now the number one preventable cause of death globally. Smoking will kill up to 1 in 2 smokers and is a major cause of death in 1 in 10 adults.
