Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) remains a global public health issue. It is estimated that there are 37.9 million people living with HIV (PLHIV) today. With advances made in efficacy and tolerability of combination antiretroviral therapy (ART) and increased access to health services in developed and developing countries, PLHIV are now living longer, healthier lives.
