Use of Prediction Models for Risk Analysis and Decision-Making in Public Health— The Catch-22 Conundrum

Shirin Kalimuddin and colleagues presented a paper on “Dengue disease modelling and forecasting: utility and limitations” in the April 2016 edition of Annals. Referencing the joint media release by the National Environment Agency (NEA) and Ministry of Health (MOH) on 18 February 2016, Kalimuddin et al discussed the limitations of models and forecasting as useful tools for eliciting a response to an
impending outbreak.
